Bio

Jory, with his diverse interests, prefers to be dubbed a "Sound Guy". Jory is a musician, sound guy, and audio support engineer, having worked in each field for more than 10 years. Trained in both audio and video at the California Institute of the Arts in Valencia, California, Jory holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sound for Film & Video, a self-developed dual major consisting of Music Technology and Live Action Film. He was recently honored in the CalArts Film Sound Department by his former mentors by having a workstation named after him.
He moved to Fairfax in 1999 and quickly became involved in the downtown community, taking part in local events, such as the Fairfax Festival Parade with his infamous tricycle. He is well-known in the music community and has a reputation for playing silly songs at the various Open Mics in Fairfax's clubs.
After a 2-year stint working for LucasArts Entertaintment Company as a Sound Designer, Jory opened his own audio post production facility in Fairfax, picking up projects from major producers such as Pixar Animation Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment, and American Zoetrope. Projects he has been affiliated with have garnered Academy Awards, including Pixar's "For the Birds", for which Jory was personally thanked by the director on the televised Academy Awards ceremony!
Jory is fiercely pro-community, taking an active interest in local artists, as well as local issues. He has worked with the manager of the Fairfax Cinema to play local artist's recordings before and after screenings and has fought against attempts to crush the spirit of Fairfax as celebrated in our local music venues.
Jory currently resides at the Marin Town & Country Club, where he also works.
